National Values Education Initiative

The Australian Professional Teachers' Association and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations’ Values Education partnership project supports the incorporation of the National Values Framework into educational practice.

The APTA’s state and territory joint councils have conducted a number of projects. The associations have encouraged involvement in the values education projects and have been raising awareness of the Values Education Program and what the work of Australian Government is doing in Values Education.

Information regarding specific opportunities can be found on the state and territory council websites. Web 2.0 workshops provided opportunities for participants to explore values education research as well as the implications resulting from the use of new technologies. Workshops considered the research relating to cyber-bullying and other social implications of new technologies.
